A Stronger Voice for District 17

I have chosen to run for the legislature in District #17 because I care about the many issues facing our great state. I believe my experiences provide a broad background for leadership in a variety of areas, and I look forward to making a difference!

• Control government spending and lower taxes
It is incumbent on the state government to live within it means and not add increased hardship to already tax strapped Nebraskans. Large and small businesses alike must be allowed to retain as much of their profits as possible in order to expand and provide more jobs. Nebraskans, especially in District 17, need to know that their government will not raise taxes, but will indeed live within its means, just as our citizens are forced to do.

• Maintain a strong infrastructure
Nearly every city and town in Nebraska, including those in District 17, is making an effort to promote economic development as a means of providing jobs and increasing the tax base. Rural revitalization is attracting considerable attention in our district. Good roads and bridges are critical to any success of these well conceived objectives.

• Protect Nebraska’s most vulnerable citizens
The State of Nebraska has many obligations to its citizens, but none are more important than taking care of three groups of Nebraskans who do not have a voice: children, adults with developmental disabilities, and the unborn. These Nebraskans must have a safe, caring, and nurturing environment in which to live and learn. As your representative, I will vote to support education, support vital services for those who cannot provide for themselves, and will protect life at all levels.
